After the St. Clairsville Ohio event I headed back down to Florida to continue my training regimen. While home I was also able to compete in an FTR race the week before the Ironman. I headed north the week prior to the last race of 2009 with one goal in mind; to finish as close to the front as possible. I knew that if I could put together a solid race I would earn the number two plate for the 2010 season...

I was looking forward round twelve in hopes of putting in a great race; although the weather was expected to make for a muddy track it turned out nice on Saturday! Although a lot of the mud had been cleared out by the morning race in my mind I knew this course would be very slick and I made it a point to focus on getting a good start and keeping momentum. I had a decent jump off the line and was able to head into the woods in the fourth place position.

Over Summer Break I decided to not take too much time off in hopes of coming closer to my first National championship. With four rounds remaining in 2009 it is very important to put in solid races with good finishes. After the Somerset race I decided to head north to continue my training regimen in anticipation of the last half of the season. I spent many hours training and a lot of time focusing on my suspension and quad setup. Needless to say I headed into the Penton feeling more confident than ever. Saturday morning the weather was nearly perfect and as I headed to the line I was anxious to get the race underway.

Round 8 of the Can Am GNCC Series was the weekend of redemption for the JG Off Road / GEICO / Monster Energy Kawasaki team in Millfield, OH. Somerset Pennsylvania is the home of Round seven of the GNCC series. In past years the Somerset track has been known to be extremely rocky in sections yet wide open and fast in others. Saturday morning we arrived to track early and with no rain I prepared for a tough dusty race. When the 10 second call was made I focused on putting in a smooth ride.
