In Full Swing

First off I would like to say it was GREAT seeing everyone at the last FTR event of the season. Phil and I enjoy coming back to local races and spending time with all of friends that we do not get to see often enough. I especially liked seeing all of you young racers out there. So many of you have come so far this year and it was great to see you all compete!

GNCC is in full swing for 08 – I can say this year has been fun this far – I could not be happier with the GEICO PowerSports Team and the support they have and are giving me. I had many people ask over the past months – how they can learn more about GEICO and the insurance they can offer – for those of you who did not get the chance to ask – you may call 1-800-44-cycle. Be sure to tell them the Off-Road Team sent you! www.tdi-racing.com

My training and nutrition are still going strong with Marc Spataro (www.motoprotraining.com) – check out his new site! It is really great that racers now have someone to go to who understands “what we do” and the “abuse” we place our bodies under weekend after weekend.
The first rounds of the GNCC have had their ups and downs – but as we all know – that is racing! I am still very positive and I understand that I am “still” learning. From thumb throttle placements to tips and tricks in the mud from my Team Manger JT Bennett – I am absorbing all of the advice given as quickly as humanly possible. No more “fried clutches” for me – which yes - began to haunt me once again at the beginning of the year. I am now working with REKLUSE…ok – being 100% honest – I was not sure what to expect. But I can tell you now that I do not know what I would do without the REKLUSE at this point!! The clutch “finishes” race after race with minimal maintenance and I cannot be happier with their support staff. Please feel free to PM me here if I can answer any questions for you – on anything – but all of you should know that – LOL!!
Back to racing…I did conquer a track that has “bitten” me every year since I started racing – Loretta Lynn’s. I have crashed there every year…this year I stayed on top of my quad and rode to third place in class and third overall out of 334 riders – I can tell you it was great – not only to get up on the podium but to “finally” have the chance to thank so many sponsors and supporters that have been behind me for the past years. It will be a moment neither myself nor Phil will ever forget.

In our travels Phil and I have been heading to Georgia and South Carolina to train and race. I can say one of the BEST places to ride is CAW – Carolina Adventure World (www.carolinaadventureworld.com) – the facility is top notch and the trails are amazing!! Yes – they actually have elevation, rocks, creeks, rivers…it is truly beautiful! If you ever get the chance to make the trip with your family – you will not be disappointed…trust me on this one.

Kentucky has come and gone and it was thankfully a DRY – HOT race!! I had a great day where I was able to finish third and 6th overall!! My Team Manger JT Bennett experienced an unfortunate accident on Sunday during the bike races. He was airlifted from the event in fear of BOTH femurs being broken…thank God this was not the case and he was released late that evening – he was able to walk away badly banged up - I ask that everyone keep JT and his family in your thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery!!

Take Care until next time,
Jen
