Summer Break is Coming to an End
Within the last month I kicked off the addition of Racer Resumes to my company Albright Motorsport Communications. Of ten times I wonder why I decide to fill my plate so full but I come to the realization that life is short – why not enjoy it. And working in the Industry I love is something I enjoy – so I really do not view it as “work”. So, if you have a free minute check out www.albrightmotorsports.com
On to riding and racing! Phil and I decided to make small trips to Georgia for weekends full of riding and training. We hit Durhamtown Plantation on Saturday and usually head to a SORCS race Sunday. Before I forget to mention…Phil surprised me in the unfamiliar terrain…yea…he is still fast there (not sure what I was hoping for – LOL). We have had a blast pushing each other to new levels and it is nice to not always have to eat HIS dust!!

The weekend of August 4th we headed up and Chris and his significant other Amanda met up with us Saturday evening. We bunked together at a Comfort Inn that served warm milk as part of the undesired continental breakfast – we drove to Dunkin Donuts (LOL) – we all headed in but Amanda decided she would pass and walk to Starbucks (LOL). Phil opted for the STRONGEST chocolate milk in existence which we quickly diluted with plain milk.
Once arriving at the track Chris signed up and before we knew it - it was time to head to the line. Now, I am not sure what happened but it seemed the Sun became 100x stronger during his race and the heat skyrocketed! I was beyond hotter than I have EVER been in my life. It drained me before the race even started!! Chris lost brakes during his race but kept on pushing to a fourth place finish in the B class! Way to go Chris!!!!

On the line Phil felt great – hot - but he felt pumped up. I on the other hand felt drained and overheated. As the flag went up I went on to file into second place of the holeshot. It was a good course – some tight and technical and some was wide open and fast. The dust however was awful. When you hit the straights you had to almost come to a stop. Phil got the hole shot and set out to catch me…which he did at the end of the third lap. I wanted to pull off but did not. I pushed to catch back to Phil and did. He let me go by near the end of the fourth lap, he was exhausted. We pushed for one more lap - I finished 2nd in the Open A class and he won Vet and beat my overall. We headed straight to the truck and tried to re-hydrate. We sat in the truck with the air on and the temp said 103!!!!! We both agreed it was the most miserable race we had ever competed in.

Still training and looking forward to the start of the second half of the GNCC season – 5 races left!!
FTR starts up soon…I know many of you are ready to hit the trails!!! I look forward to racing FTR as does Phil…stay safe while training and we will see you at the first FTR race that is not in conflict with the GNCC!!
