Taylor Kiser GNCC Round #10 Unadilla Race Report
Over Summer Break I decided to not take too much time off in hopes of coming closer to my first National championship. With four rounds remaining in 2009 it is very important to put in solid races with good finishes. I raced in many local events up North, traveled to France to compete with Bill Ballance and Brandon Sommers in the Point De Vaux and trained extensively in my spare time. Heading to Unadilla I was confident in the effort I put forth over break and hoped to bring home a win in New York.My Yamaha had a good jump off the line; I entered the course in fourth place and was really comfortable and ready to go racing.
The course was 9.5 miles long with both challenging and fast sections incorporated all of which I was very comfortable on. At the close of lap one I was in sixth place but within striking distance of the leaders and my Yamaha was working great. I continued to push forward with no mistakes and when the leaders decided to pit at the close of lap 2 I chose not to and moved into second place to try and add some distance between myself and the rest of the riders.

After my pit in the third lap I pulled back into the race in sixth place. I did not let this enter my mind; I simply focused on what had to be done to get back up front. I focused on picking off one rider at a time which paid off. I entered into the fourth place spot and battled with Ballance, Sommers, Cook, and Borich on the white flag lap. I would take the checkered in fourth; a mere second behind third place.
After this round of racing and placing fourth I remain in second place in the points standings; I have a lot of great sponsors and supporters that have a hand in this race and I cannot thank them enough; Yamaha, Houser, Ohlins, HMF, Maxxis, Mike Kiser Welding, Raber Industries, T&K Cycles, HiPer, Moto X Nutrition, Fly, Powermadd, Fasst, Ballance Racing, Precision Racing, Rath Racing, GT Thunder, DP Brakes, G4 graphics, Derek Tremain- ARS Powersports, Baldwin Motorsports, Big Nutz Racing, Chester Vet Clinic, Jason Lyons – Mona Vie, Spectro Oils, Tire Balls, Exposed Clothing, Albright Motorsports, IMS and Eden Winery.
Looking forward to Round #11, see you in Yadkinville!
