I agree! Forget about coming home and taking a shower, getting a good bite to eat sitting on the couch, or even getting the bikes cleaned up! All of that stuff can wait. Come on now! You people need to get your priorities strait. Throw a bone to the less fortunate. We need to know what we missed!:D

Well I for one worked the race which was my first time.
It was a tight and dusty course with 2 open cow pastures and seveal areas through trees that looked like a GNCC course.
It was high speed through the trees.
But there was on section about a mile long that was really really tight.
I will never again complain about a course set up.
I was pooped ou the end of the day.
It was nice to see how everything is put together.
Hung out with Bobby Henderson for a while.
He bashed the quads and I bashed the bikes

So when you guys coming to the next race?
Im heading to SC this weekend if anyone wants to go?
Mark??? Doug?? com on Doug its only a 5 hr drive for you..:D
Pete you heading up to that one?

Jen and Phil how did you guys do?
When I left to go eat the scores were not posted yet even after I helped with the Poker Run.

Well guys as you may have seen from the scores and laptimes i again came from the back, caught randy with about 2 miles to go and we had one heck of a battle all the way into the scoring shacane but i had to settle for second. No body thought i could run him down he had a big lead.Jen was done and at the finish when we came in rubing wheels and all she could say was holy sh#@.It was pretty exciting.I wish i could finish them all that way. Then it was ruined when randy was dqed for his number plates not being right. There was about 20 or so dqed for it.Ijust didn't feel right taking a trothy i didn't really earn,so Iwas credited with the win but didn't take a trothy at all.And of corse jen won.She can tell you about it.

This DQ ppl for the # plates is for the birds. You give a warning first, then if they dont comply then you DQ them. Dont waste my time and money to race a race just to tell me at the end im DQ over a # plate. If thats the case they need to have a Tech inspection like the GNCC that you must go through before you go to the starting line.

Doesn't look like ill make the next race on saturday, going to try to be there on sunday and race the bike. That race is only about 2 hours away for me and thats my B-DAY on the 17th but there is to much money to be made at work to miss out on a saturday.

P.S. I love the SANDBAGGER REPORT now you can really see who's a SANDBAGGER (PHIL,RANDY,JEN)

Phil it's nice to hear about you having a good run after all the stuff that you've been thru this year. Congrats! Wish I could have made it. Sounds like it was a good course.

As far as all this DQ for numbers and backgrounds goes, I'm glad they are enforcing the rule, but I don't really care for how it was done. (I was not there so I'm getting all of my information second hand). From what I understand there was no mention of them finally enforcing this rule in the riders meeting. I am curious to know when the decision was made to do it and why? Yes, I know it is in the rulebook, but so are allot of other rules that are not enforced and this one has not been in the past. I think a little heads up as to what was going on would have been nice for the membership.

The person I feel sorry for is Roy. He's the one that had to play referee in all this mess. Nothing like getting blind-sided!

You should have seen all the ginny googoo number setups.
No wonder they DQ so many.
One guy had numbers on a paper plate.
It was very unprofessional and some guys were out there riding in jeans and a t-shirt with no goggles and chest protector.
It kinda makes FTR look like a bunch of hillbillies.
THey need to do some sort of Tech inspection.

Trust me I am the first person for being safe and having all your safety gear. And I mention this to Mike before when they made a big deal about DQing people for not riding with boots.

J. Competition Apparel & Equipment
1. A helmet must be worn in all events. Helmets
must carry a Safety Helmet Council of America
serialized sticker and be on the SHCA approved
list. All helmets must be full coverage or full
facial units (no shorties).
2. It is recommended that shatterproof goggles or
face shields be worn. Some type of eye
protection must be worn by all riders.
3. It is recommended that protective pants be
worn. These may be of leather or other durable
material subject to approval by the referee. No
shorts. It is also recommended that long-sleeved
shirts be worn.
4. It is recommended that footwear, a minimum of
eight inches high and either laced, multi-buckled,
zippered or especially designed and constructed
for leg and foot protection be worn.
5. Rules 2, 3 and 4 above are recommended, but
any rider without proper protective apparel, as
judged by the FTR Referee, may be withheld
from starting until the problem is corrected and
the rider is released by the FTR Referee.

As you can see its all recommended. Only thing your required to wear is a Helmet. I for one would like to see the rule book changed in to what is required safety equipment. I just dont understand allienating people. Work with them get it right and move on. Not DQ them. Seems they had out 100+ DQs a race. As I say warn them once DQ them on the 2nd try.

Remember there is a rule going into effect for next year that the quads have a rear # plate.

Paul,
also if you can remember back a few races ago, when Yoalkey raced with us, what kinda # plate did he have? a paper one over his pro #. a little different situation but non the less a paper plate,
i agree with the hillbilly syndrom, and that is exactly the reason quads get a bad rap,
and also i think that the 3 number plate rule was designed for bike only since they come with 3 places to put them, then along came the quads and they never amended the rules, but at this point there are decal companies that make fender decals for quads, i saw the quad you are talking about with the paper plate # plates, i believe it was on a warrior, wasnt it ? what a joke,
they need to have a tech station like a GNCC, but of course some of the big wigs and loud mouths will say what they alway say
"join a club and help out, you can run tech"
its amazing that they can do it at a GNCC with more riders, and from the couple of races i have been too, it goes smoothly

DOUG

And if you notice in GNCC, nobody runs # plates and if they do 90% of the time there not the correct one for that class. But yet they seam to have no problem. Only people I see running the correct ones are the PRO's.

Hello All!!

I must say that I disagreed with the way the # plate issue was handled...there was no mention of it in the riders meeting and some officials were walking the lines before the race and no one said anything to anyone...they sure didn't have a problem taking the riders money before the race now did they??? I would have been just as upset if it had happened to me!!!

As Phil said...I won. It was the BEST tarck this year! I love the tight stuff and I think I had a BIG smile on my face the whole race!!!

I must say that Phil had an amazing finish!! It was breath taking...Randy had no room for a mistake and he knew it!! I am going to try to attach the pic of Phil & Randy's finish!

Take Care...OH and a BIG Thanks to Brian for the "stupid" mud hole incident....LoL!!!

i saw randy faul walking the line about 10 min before the start, at that point he couldve said something, and he wasnt the only one i saw looking at the quads, he just the only one i recognize, i understand all that is in the rule book and if you were a member of FTR prior to the race you should know better, but what if they joined FTR @ the race, were they given a rule book? or just told" hey you need a # on the front and sides"
was this a problem for the bikes to? did anyone of them get DQ'ed for number probs?
those were some nice pics racergirl

ANY TIME JEN.YOU OWE ME ONE.GREAT FINISH PHIL.THATS WHAT MAKES IT ALL WORTH IT.SORRY EVERY ONE IS IN A UP-ROAR ABOUT THE DQ THING.I DONT THINK THEY DID THE RIGHT THING.BUT THE RULES ARE THE RULES.WE MAY NOT BE SCORED BY THOSE PLATES BUT THEY HAVE A REASON FOR BEING THERE.1ST :SO YOU CAN TELL WHAT CLASS HE OR SHE IS RIDING IN.2ND:IF SOMEONE IS HURT YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THE BAR CODE.YOU TELL THEM THE BIKE NUMBER/COLOR BACKGROUND AND LETTER.3RD:IF SCORING FAILES. YOU USE THE NUMBER PLATES FOR BACK-UP.4TH:IF A COURSE MARSHAL OR OFFICIAL SEES SOMEONE CHEATING OR UP TO FOUL PLAY THEY WILL GO BY THE PLATE #S.AND ON & ON.I TRULEY BELIEVE IT WAS A BAD DECISION FROM DAN WHITE.HE BUMPPED ALL THE MINIS LAST YEAR RIGHT BEFORE THE END OF THE SEASON.ALL THOSE LOST CHAMPIONSHIPS.THAT WAS WRONG.BUT ABOUT THE DQ'S WE ALLLLLL NO THE RULES.LIKE THEM OR NOT THEY ARE THE RULES...THEY COULD HAVE WARNED US THOUGH.SORRY TO ALL THE RACERS IT AFFECTED.PLEASE WEAR PROPER GEAR AND THE CORRECT PLATES & #'S.C-YA AT THE NEXT RACE.

PS:??? IF THE SCOREKEEPER(DAN WHITE) IS NOT AN OFFICIAL.WHAT GIVES HIM THE RIGHT TO DQ ANYONE AND I MEAN ANYONE...........
