That's right. RCDR is green-lighted in our own backyard. We've already scouted the property. Should be very spectator friendly as well as challenging. Heard you racers can't find any trees down south, so come up and dodge some here in North Florida. I'll keep you posted on progress. Mundy RCDR-ElPresidente.
It will be nice to race up there, tracks up north have been really nice
Nothing like racing in north Florida!jump2:

YEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trail is almost finished. We went out today and connected the different sections. There are some fast sections that might require 1 more tooth on the front sprocket.... hold on there are those sections that a really low gear would be better. Smaller tires for the low center of gravity to flat track the grass or taller tires for the cypress knees? I razrs for the sand slide or razr 2's for the wet areas? Decisions decisions!!!!!!!!!
This course will be absolutely awesome!!!This property really has some of everything... fields, fast flowing woods,a little mud, sand, grass, 3 palmettos,a few logs, 14 stumps, several ditch crossings(will be dry crossings unless we get alot of rain) some really tight sections and some really really tight sections. However if you are creative there are several lines but be careful, some may dead end!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah , this is a working ranch so the early birds that go out to practice first will find A BUNCH of prizes left by the cows that range these here parts.
10 SECONDS.....YEEEEHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah I almost forgot, paved road all the way to the front gate and plenty of SHADED parking!!!!!!!!Your cell phone will actually have signal to call home with race reports.. PeeWee course will be open fields and woods.
After the start spectators will see the racers twice more within 10 minutes of the start... spectator friendly right from camping area.
Come one come all ... lets make this a quad series that makes the bike nazis green with envy!!!!!!

Track at WW RANCH is really comming together...was out there yesterday and are just about through with each section...marking is about all that is left other then the fence cutting that will be done the day before...as Jimmy660 said...It's tight-(cow paddy)loose-wet (opps cow paddy)-open (nother one)-thick-cur(cow paddy)vey-long-straight...you get the message....really spectator friendy...not a bad parking spot on the place

Did we mention "cowpies"? Yes the loop is done, and we have figured out a way to shorten the distance for the "youth class". Pay attention during practice, marshalls with signs, will be directing racers to the appropriate sections. Food vendor is lined up for food all day Sat. and Sunday breakfast.
We'll also have double greens on both sides of the roadway on the property, so you won't run off at night.
This is a working ranch, and has restricted areas. Please obey no spectator beyond this point signs, no parking beyond this point signs, AND foot traffic only signs. VERY SPECTATOR friendly.
Peewee course open all day Saturday(kids will allways be visible, with shady spots in the middle to set up and watch).
RACE TIP#1- Don't wear an orange helmet!
More on that later!
We'll be ready for you!

Went out today and arrowed the trail. This will be a fun course. Should flow real good even though there is some very tight sections. Plenty of room for passing.Multiple lines if your daring enough!!!!! A few wet areas we may have to reroute but there are plenty of dry route available so plan on racing in 2 weeks for sure!!!!!!!! Anybody know how many quads were at QS1? Really didn't look like the numbers I was hoping for. See ya in 2 weeks.

I heard 150, and I probably stickered 50 to 60 quads about half way thru the tech process. No pee wees were checked. The numbers you were hoping for might have been there if the weather leading up to the event had been a little more favorable. I know I was nervous because of hotel reservations and the fuel. Long way to drive to be washed out. Jon

No problem, anything to help my fellow racers. Looks like I will be helping out alot this season, quads been broke since the barrel roll at the GNCC at Vero. My wallet isnt doing much better, but its cool to be involved at any level so if volunteering is as close as I get to racing this season so be it. At least I can watch my boys race and meet some new friends and be a positive impact on the sport we love so much. Jon

This weekend should be an absolute blast. Just to let everyone know there is NO reason not to race this one. Even if it rains all week the track will hold up. This property is amazingly high and dry for Florida. There are motels and resturants within 15 minutes and a convienience store within 8 minutes.A lot of work has gone into this because it is a new piece of property which means all 7.7 miles is brand new ,fresh cut ,not even broke in ,non whooped, unrutted and beautiful trail!!!!!!!!! WOW that makes it SOUND easy!!!!Come out and support not only this race but all of the QS's this year and make a great series for the quads.
On a side note I noticed several people last week with paper plates and cardboard for # plates. My kids were guilty of this as well. Seems to be a shortage of # plates around so I ordered several white plates a few black plates and some red plates. The red plates are back ordered but I did pick up some red background. If anyone needs a different color background let me know and I'll try to get it by Fri night. Also ordered kill switches but they will NOT be here on time .
Also , our club is made up of about 98% bike riders of which about 1/3 races. So as you sign up or buy t shirts or just see a worker let them know you appreciate them donating their time so we can have fun. It's amazing how a simple thank you can make people feel. Oh and about half of the people you see volunteering this weekend will not even be club members but friends and family of club members. I don't expect anyone to stop on the trail so if you think about it give the course workers a yeeeehaaaaaaaaawwww as you pass them out on the trail.

This really stinks, but as I am looking at the live radar up there, it is POURING and has been. It looks like it will continue through the night as well. Too bad we don't have a utility challenge instead! hehehe
For those of you who are really itching and want to go racing next weekend in Chipley, here is the flyer for that. http://www.floridatrailriders.org/flyer/08_season/TTR_101407_web.pdf

Chipley is next weekend and Okeechobee the next....27th is 1st opening
Jimmy660
10-04-2007, 08:57 PM
As of right now the first weekend open is the 27th. The RCDR committee is talking over if we want that date or a different date. I think whatever date it needs to be on a enduro weekend so that the first 2 qs don't take 2 rain dates out of the few rain dates available to the whole ftr schedule.
The problem with the 27th is it's between 2 races down south. The majority of quad racers seem to come from central Fl and south. If we schedule a race between these 2 races and it meaning 3 weekends in a row I believe attendance will suffer severely for our event. We have put a lot of time and work into this and I don't want people to miss out because of 3 races in 3 weeks.I know several of you guys will come no matter what but we have to think about the whole. With fuel prices and all the other race expenses some people may not be ABLE to race 3 weeks in a row. I don't know if my body or quad will be ABLE to hold up for it!!!!!!!!!!
What I'm looking for here is a little input and maybe it will make a difference on our date and maybe it wont. The powers that be are discussing the situation and I'm sure they will make the best decision for EVERYONE.
Now I would like to apoligize for jinxing the race with my "rain or shine" comment. Evidently mother nature is like my wife and likes to prove me wrong!!!!!!!!!! The decision to postpone was the right one. I havn't seen the property but from the reports I got if we did put this race on this weekend It would have been a disaster. We don't want to destroy the landowners property with 7.7 miles of 2 foot deep ruts, especially since the course crosses his and his brothers driveways!!!!!!!!! Not to mention the wear and tear on everyones equipment from racing in standing water and mud all day. We planned on a couple sections of mud but nobody likes to ride in it contiuously for 2 hours!!!Well maybe some do!!!We want EVERYONE not only to come to our event but ENJOY it! The decision to postpone is the best for everyone and I hope everyone understands and will still come to our race on it's new date.

Amanda called me already, she is putting our date of 10/27 to the EC. Junior was in agreement. Gotta remember the livestock situation, pulling all arrows and breaking down everything for a later date. Plus my garage is full of good looking t-shirts and trophies. Don't want to stand on a street corner and sell'em!

I agre the 27th will be three race weekends in a row the 15th of dec. is open or the 26th of Jan. both would be good that way we are not waiting two months between race's.What ever they come up with is fine if we are not racing the 27th you know you will be practicing so it's going to cost you to ride anyway unless you got a track in your back yard.;);):D

Hate to see a rain out but this is a flood out....rained ALL day today so I'm sure it's still flooded even more.....For you guy's down south just think if you'd drove 300 mile and it was called tonight or in the morning....tip my hat to Mundy and the RCDR board in making a very good desision early....I can remember back in the traveling sprint car days that I left early on Friday morning head up to Tenn or NC to race and get there only to have the thing called due to weather...
I would hope ALL the clubs are able to due the same and make a early desision if the same thing was to happen espescially, with the fuel prices...just know RCDR's WILL reschueldedancinchcn: and we will race on a very very good course....
hope to see ya in Chipleythumpsup:
