Well, the time for voting ended and I don't know when the ballots are counted and the outcome revealed.
Whatever the vote turns out to be, I want to thank everyone for the support and the opportunity to do something instead of just talk about it.
Even if we didn't get the position, we should still try and do something to help our series survive and grow.
Getting the word out to the right media should be paramount. It kills me that we have no coverage at all. Other states do. Other series do. What, are we chopped liver?? Don't we donate to charites and have scholarships? Aren't we the opposite of the morons who usually make the news on an OHV? Why aren't we on the news? We do great things and provide great family fun. This must be something we work on.
I cannot help the massive amount of developement that has happened to our state. Several things happened with such a population boom.
Riding areas replaced by homes, country clubs, and shopping malls. Riding areas fenced off. Lifestyles crushed.
The people moving here have no idea we even exist. Heck, some who have lived here thier whole lives do not know we exist.
Somehow, we need to change this.
We need to look to our reps and officers to help pass out flyers. I mean we live in different parts of the state so it is widespread already. We figure out a way to make it easy and not too much out of our way, but we have to do something if we are to grow. I put flyers up for each event at my local gas station and the local motorcycle shops.
Anyone can print extra flyes and put them at the next gas station they go to. I mean if you get just one person to come, it worked!
If we used this mentality as a test for this upcoming race, I am here to tell you it would work. We would have way more attendance. If we don't, we are going to have a heck of a time making a deal with a land owner to have an event with 150 to 170 entries. I know there are more out there that would LOVE to do it (race)but have no idea we exist. lolhammer:
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for not throwing rocks at me.
