Ain't life a *****.
Someone contested the election based on the fact that the ballot box was not at the Chipley HS, which was the first half of Oct. This was the last HS event beore the election was over, Dec 1st. By rule it needed to be there.
This was contested now 1/2 a month after the election is over. Let's just say 2 months later.

The EC had an emergency meeting to figure out what to do.
They decided to hold an entirely new election across the board. They will be mailing new ballots and the new election will be in Jan.
I am all for the rules. So that is how it is.

So, who contested? Many of you have only heard of him because I mentioned him in my post about the "election."
He also happens to be my opponent for VP.
He never once one time ever said anything about this election about anything on any forum or any races. The only person to say anything about anything was me. I even emailed him warning him I was on the ballot and stood a good chance of winning. I suggested he do some campaigning, which he didn't. Well guess what, I did! AND I WON!!
NOW he is protesting.
I wonder if he would have protested had he won?? HMMMM!?? I bet not.
I really didn't want the position to begin with. The I figured if enough thought I could do it, I darn sure try.
Now I am so pissed I can't ****. I thought, alright, I will do what the VP is supposed to do. It can't be that hard. The last two didn't do ANYTHING. I thought, I do will better than the two of them combined.
Thats four years of NOTHING we got from them. The one before the current VP is the daughter of Jack.
Jack is the same guy who is fighting for your rights to ride at NOHVCC. I say Bull****! No one is fighting. They are stroking each other at mine and your expense and I am sick of it!! Now he is going to campaign and do what he has to to get the votes in a club you never hear squat from him. So what, now if he wins we get what? More silence? I know he does good things. He can't be a bad person, but he must report to the members of FTR in some way shape or form. Someone needs to use the membership #'s to make one big voice and create OHV park throughout the state. Quality of life is what off-roading offers to families and alike. Anyway I know I am rambling. I'm just a little dissapointed. This whole "re-election" is going to cost FTR a few thousand dollars. With a stamp, ballot w/printing, and stamp is going to be around a dollar a piece. Nice move. I wonder why he now wants the position so bad?
I don't even know if I want to do it again. Seems his deck is fixed.
The other people on the ballot in different positions should all be required to introduce themselves somhow to the mebership. I mean you look at the ballot and see a bunch names. Shoot if they had of put Dirk Diggler on the ballot, I bet he would have gotten a ton of votes just cause his name is cool.
ALright, I have to get back to work and my girlfriend and I are going out tonight so I wil be missing the chat with Jen tonight.
What should I do?

Makes you wonder just how political this political thing really is? Sounds like someone got butt hurt and now is whining surprise, surprise. Sorry for your dissapointment Brian, hopefully you will remain on the ballot. Many of us, myself included think you are the man for the position. And remember it aint over till it's over.

Disgusting display.
You were the winner. You can do it again.
There is a thread on the FTR forum that says many did not bother to vote the first time around.
Go get those votes. Maybe this will motivate others to step up and NOT reward such poor sportsmanship as this.

Brian don't worry, you already won once,I'm sure his dislpay of sportsmanship will get some of his voters to change there vote towards you.The voters already agree that you are the right person for the job. After the next set of votes are counted & the result stays the same,we can celebrate all over again.I'm sure it will not be that close of a win this time.Be patient & have a happy & healthy holiday.

...AND THAT SURPRISES YOU????????

Welcome to FTR Politics 101.
I've been around the horn a few times in the organization and have learned that some of these guys don't like to give up their positions "in society". I guess the title makes them feel important, although nothing positive seems to get done. We all know you are in this for the racers.
Brian, you are the first person in a LONG TIME to show a stand for anything.
Good luck!!!!! We will be rooting for you.

Wow, I've seen it all now. But it doesn't surprise me. I was one of the founding members on the QS committee when it first started. I left once I got a taste of FTR's politics. I've been kicked out of FTR and their forums more times than I can count. Now I just mind my business and am grateful I have a place to ride. I guess I'm "FTR Brainwashed". Good Luck Brian, I'll be voting for you again.

I don't even know if I want to do it again. Seems his deck is fixed....

What should I do?
doh:

I'll tell you what you're going to do.... YOU are going to stay in this thing. YOU are going to keep a cool head. And YOU are going to win. And when you do, what kind of statement will that make?? And IF you don't, you'll have integrity, because that's the kind of guy you are. You don't need to be the VP to make a difference, but we need you. FTR needs you, and the OHV riders throughout the State of Florida need you.

QUAD RIDERS.... Keep your integrity, don't get involved in the BS, and don't take anything personal.
And for PETE'S SAKE..........VOTE!!!!!!!!

65 votes???? doh: 65 VOTES???? C'mon folks, that's embarrasing. Brian can't afford for anyone to be lazy about this one.

And Brian, my apologies for not congratulating you on your previous win. I found out about the situation with Jack shortly after the results were posted, and I couldn't call you knowing what was going on. I'm not the "smoke & mirrors" type. Good luck, SAQRA is behind you 110%. I am behind you.

When you race, you focus on two things, the trail ahead and the win. Pace yourself and don't stop to fight with the "palmettos" on the way. You know if you go faster, you just glide right over them. Think about it, and don't let this situation be any different.

"Supportively",

Amanda.

You all are so cool. This is very nice to read. The God of wine is here tonight as I passed my state termite exam and am now a state certified termite killer! If I could spell a karate sound I would -WWAAAAAAAAAAA HHYYIAA!!
I am going to try this election thing again and see if we can't just win it again. It should be fair. Don't want any crying this time.

I thought they were being mailed to every member?

Mine came in the mail yesterday with the magazine. If it didn't make it to you that is why it is also available on-line.
This time I hope we win by more than 3 votes. I hope it is a landslide.
Please vote for each position. The blank positions are filled but if you have someone in mind that is who you should put. Provided they agree to it.
If you do not want to mail it, please give it to me at this QS in Myakka or Brooksville HS or Seminole MX. I will make sure it gets to the ballot box.
Win or loose, things need to keep happening. I have no idea what it is all about, but I am about to get a full dose of it come the end of the month. I am going to that State meeting in Naples on the 30th to listen and learn. I am going to go to as many as I can and will report everything to the FTR website. I hope I can do some good.
Thank you

Brian,

BE CAREFUL!!!!!!
I know you want to help everyone out and collect their ballots, but they need to be "MAILED IN". Here's a quote by Joe Steidl on FTR's website.

Mike,
You should mail it in.
Everyone be sure to vote!

I don't want them to DQ any votes because they weren't mailed.

Good Luck!!!

Mike, thanks, but I am working closely with Joe and the EC to ensure a smooth election. I can collect as many as I can and I will be mailing them in.
Thanks again,

WE WON AGAIN!
I think it will stick this time!??
Thank you everyone who sent in your ballot. Thank you everyone who spoke on my behalf and also collected ballots.
Together we are going to do something. First thing is getting more entries at the QS.
2 Wheel classes?? Television exposure?? There are a few things I'd like to discuss and get ideas.
I'll start a new thread for these things, but again thank you to everyone who participated.
