Here I am starting to get ready for next years H/S season. I want to atleast stay with my own class this year is my goal. I am trying to ride twice a week atleast 1-1:30 each time. Where we ride is very brutal and 45 min treats you like an 1:30. I am good for about the first 20 min all out. But when I die, I DIE. And feel I can never catch my breath or strength again unless I stop and get a breather.

Since we got grouped together with the other bill I am sure it will all pass and we will be stuck with the 1:30 riding time. Which reality is about 1:10 for the non AA riders.

I am going to really try and work on my endurance. And training tips you guys use? Ive got a mountain bike and im going to do some rides in the morning before work.

Something that the AA riders are going to have to think about if they want to race a GNCC race, accourding to there rules you must race in the PRO class.

Here are some tips that helped me.Stay away from soda and coffee, and drink lots of water not just the day you ride but everyday.your body does need some suger so drink gaterade or decaf tea, it taste the same.As for riding just keep riding. And remember its like 95 out so you are going to get tired a little sooner than normal.sometimes when i'm riding i'll turn around and go through a section many times and push a little harder each time till i feel like i can't do it any faster.(or till i hit something)This years races will be different in that there will not be much of a pace it will be more all out and i think you will see less patients for lapers,i only hope it doesn't get out of hand.So i suggest you work on going all out.thats what i'm planing on.

That was good point about the all out race now and not a paced race.
Last sunday Bill and I ran at that one place till we ran out of gas.
It was 95 out and we were about puking.

Doug if you want to come down and ride Im in Crooms or at the one place every sunday now till race time.

This saturday Im heading to Bills and were working on the front suspension on the 450. Then heading over to the one place.

Brian was out there with us last weekend.

This year will be very different for me...and I want to be ready for the challenge. So...I have been jogging about 3 times a week and riding on the weekends. The jogging has helped my endurance immensely and has helped my legs strengthen.

I feel like I am getting faster...but that is because I am riding with people that are faster than me. Last weekend Phil and Shawn(races FTR) made me be out in front....talk about some pressure....enuff: I could hear Phil's motor and thought for sure he would run me over any minute... But, it only made me react quicker and ride harder.

Phil is right...stay away from soda & drink LOTS of water!!!
