Hey Doug sorry you couldnt make it we did look all over the place, even in the porto jons..:D
Well I was 4th in the holeshot and I got sceeeeered cause of the dust.enuff:
So I let everyone else go behind me through.
I thought I did good for "A" class.
The dust and woops really got the best of me. I think I need to adjust the rear shock.
But through the woods I made the best time and thats where I did my passing cause there wasnt to much dust.
AA class Tyler took first and there is some new kid on a yellow "Z" thats really fast.
Rogers broke an axle.
Oh and Dave B. is in "A" class.
Everyone was giving him a real hard time on the line.
There were guys at the score board that were all PO'ed cause the got beat by a girl.
Good job Jen and Phil.
Well Doug you better make for Madison.
I would love to see someone crying about getting beat by Jen. The woman is an animal and deserves every right to be running what ever class she qualifys for. Hell I hope she goes A before the years up.
Jen im going to get you a Jersey made with your race # and its going to say on the back "YOU JUST GOT BEAT BY A GIRL"
RACE ON JEN, RACE ON GIRL

Where were ya Doug???? :p I hope you can make it to the Madison race...we haven't seen ya in a long time!!!
Well, there were 15 men in the 0-400 B class...I ended up 3rd. It was a tough race for me...I was VERY tired....VERY out of shape...so I know there is room for improvement!! :D All the guys were pretty cool...I think it is gonna be a fun season.
Phil did great...there were 12(?) guys in the "AA" class and he finished 5th!!!!!!!!!!eyebrows: I think that is AWESOME!!! He was in fourth and stopped to check on Mike Rogers...Randy Reiser and Holschizer(spelling?) went flying by. He got back by Reiser and finished one second behind Holschizer. I thought it was GREAT!!!! :D
All in all it was fun but VERY rough...I was wiped after the first lap and didn't get my second wind till the end of the third...Phil has special powers that allow his to keep haulin "a$$" even when he is beat and sore...I wish I had those powers!!!
Congrats to everyone!!! See ya at Madison!!!
Jen
Ok so what was the run down of the AA class if you know??
1. Taylor Kiser
2. Some new guy
3. Holshizer ?
4. Phil
5. Randy Riser
How was Mike running before he broke?
Congrats Jen on your 3rd. I know there are proably some pissed off guys. BUT YOU GO GIRL.
I unfortunatly probably wont make it to the Madison race either. So Palatka will probably be my first one for this year. Its sad cause the first 3 are withen an hour and half for me. But who knows what tomorow brings.
I cant seem to log onto the FTR forum so if there is anything on there I am missing it. So put it on here if its anything important.

Hey Everybody,
Sorry I couldn't be there. Had a situation which would not allow me to go to the race. I hope you all had a good race. I missed being there with you. Hopefully I will be able to get away next weekend. If I do, I look forward to seeing and racing with all of you.

kraft is riding a 450 yamaha.
And scoring is still screwed up for the quads,i think every class was wrong.the transponders just aren't working right on some quads jen went through and the transponder didn't work so they made her get off her quad and walk through and it still didn't work.that took alot of a time. mine only worked the first lap,but worked perfect in practice so i'm going to try a new place for the trans and J R mentioned that it may help to cover the ignition with aluminum tape so maybe i'll try that.
they said we went through to fast but i went very slow and it didn't work so maybe a new location will help.
daniel really is doing his best to fix the problem so hopefuully they get it soon.they also mentioned turning off your quad will help it scan but i hope it doesn't come to that sometimes they don't refire and if you have a kick start it would really suck.
at the next race i want to try to go through several times in practice and see what works best cause i just want to get it right.
Im very familier with the system there using. And there has been alot of testing done in both GNCC as well as other series. And it seems the EX is the one there having the most problems with. They think it has something to do with the frequency that is created from the motor. So dont know if aluminium tape will work since its a frequency issue.
Where do you have it located?? I have mine on my chest protector. You want to have the transponder as far away from metal as possible.

I had mine under my helmet viser it worked in practice so i left it.
jens was on her camelback, horizontel like it suposed to be but did not work.it would really be unfar to ex riders to have to stop and turn off your quad to get scored while everyone else blows right through.

I had a problem with mine also.
Bill told me we passed the guy that came in front of me on the score.
I should have had 5th place for sure and I know I passed 2 guys in my class on the last lap.
BUt I settled for 6th. It was only one point difference. My wife yelled at me for not protesting it. She said it might cost me at the end of the year.
Oh well the first race is always trial and error. I will have a new mental state for the rest.
I wish they would go back to the bar scan.
If its good enough for GNCC it should be good enough for FTR.

Yeah...I was a little irritated during the race. I was three bike lengths through the shicane when they told me to stop and go back through. By the time I did my class caught me and the machine still did not pick up my transponder. Oh well...the track officials just do the best they can at the time.
I think JR is a great guy and he did a good job handling all the protests...Daniel also did an exceptional job re-working the finishes.
I do not know what the fix is or if there is one...I hope it doesn't come down to having to shut the bikes down...
Jen
Not to get off of the scoring subject, but did anyone notice they insisted that quad riders sign up for ATVA instead of AMA? Last year if you wanted to sign up at the races your only choice was the AMA.
Nice to see them offering both.

Hey Guys, you when you mentioned scoring I would just have to type something. The transponders that are currently being used (TI) will not work with the 400EX no matter what you do. As far as the current scoring system that FTR is using, it is far more superior to the ones currently being used by the GNCC and WORCS series. For a couple of reasons, one is that Daniel has created the system to read both bar codes and transponders. Two it is able to be accomdating to both Quads and Bikes. However, you have to wonder how hard would it be to just scan the Quads for accuracy if for nothing else. The system that is being used by WORCS was created over a year ago, and the transponders they use are a little more pricey than the ones we use. The GNNC will not be using transponders until the current system that is in testing stages have worked accuracetly in test conditions. I am sure if Daniel would just ask some of you guys and wonderful woman that ride the 400EX for testing you would step up, as you have in the past, to help him out. Again, for all you FTR executives who read this, since I am not an FTR member, I typed the current scoring system that Mr. Daniel White has developed is superior and he should be commended for all his efforts and hard work.
See ya at the Races sometime soon!!

I Skull Lake was my first race running in the 0-400 C class on my 400ex. I didn’t have any problems with my transponder. I friend of mine running basically an identical 400ex had all kinds of trouble. The only difference is that I'm running an aluminum airbox that I relocate the battery inside along with the starter solenoid and etc...
I'm getting ready for Madison now :D

Skull Lake was brutal! I didn't expect the track to be completely whooped out, nor was I in shape enough. I signed up for 0-400cc A class, but there was only 2 people in the class, so I went to sign up for open A and they said I need to be over 400cc to enter that class, well I got pissed and decided just to run AA (they can't stop me from enter this class), that way I'll just ride with the big boys and get faster. Conrad’s to Phil and Jen, Phil you burned me in that straight and I never saw you after that. Man you and my uncle fought it out.
My transponder worked every lap, but when I came to the chicane I didn't really gas it much and the transponder was mounted on the back of my chest protector near my neck. I was happy finishing with 6th place. After the race I started feeling really bad, I didn't feel better until I threw up the 5th time in Ocala on the way home, after it all came out I laid down in the back of my uncles pickup and rode there all the way home. I guess I was dehydrated and probably had heat exhaustion. Can't wait till Madison, I love that place it usually has real tight woods and mud, that is when I ride the best.
Mark, I need to get with you about a pipe for my 400ex, they said my bike is the loudest out one out there, I think I'm losing HP and I just repacked less than 5hours ago, so its time to hook my up with a HMF. My # is 352-214-5807 See everybody at the race. Joey
Congrats Joey,
I heard you where out there flying. Congrats on the AA finish.
These new rules need a lil ironing out. But that will take another year to get straightend out. But once AA always AA so your stuck
I was looking at some of the pics that Jonny Jpeg took. I seen a couple of 450 with yellow back grounds and and couple of 400's with white back grounds.
So there still seems to be a bit of confusion.
