View Full Version : Advancing myself
Ok guys heres the deal i have read the rule book like you wouldnt even wanna know.. and it says that i cant bump myself untill after three races and i have to be able to prove that i can get top half in the next class.. but my deal is that they also say if i dont have 45 adv points by half season which would be 7 races and even if i won the next 2 that would only be 40 adv points so that means if i race this next race in C that would be three races and i can bump myself. But i want to keep my points. And i wanted to run for a title so that means im stuck in what would you guys do or please tell me if im wrong about any of this!!!
Cause i REALLY wanna race in B so i could start myself in A at the start of next season!!!

I think what you have been reading are ways that you can be automatically promoted up to a higher class by the HS Committee or Officials. That doesn't apply to you. You are promoting yourself.
Unless I've missed something, I think the only rule that applies to you is in Chapter VII - B - 10
You basically move to B and 90% of your points go with you.
Are you sure i will take my points with me cause i dont wanna go into another class without my points!!!
That's the way I've always understood it.
If you want to be absolutely sure, and get an official answer, I would shoot the HS Referee an e-mail.

Nick, all the advice given here is correct. My son just promoted himself to B 0-400. You take 90% of your points with you. If you wait until the midpoint of the season, you would only take 50% of your points.
Two wins in two starts means it's time to move. My son moved himself up even though he hadn't won a race. Better competition improves your skill. And you're right about not having so many seniors, veterans, and super seniors to pass.
Plus, it's safer racing and starting with people who have a little more experience.
Good luck.
Thanks alot for all the help ill be moving myself!!!
You need to send a letter to Daniel White his e-mail can be found under contacts and H/S Scorekeeper and just tell him you would liek to bump up to the B class and when you register at the next race it should already be done. Or they can do it right there on the spot. But make sure you send him a letter so he will transfer your points.
