John (nyraptor) made his way to Florida and he brought his bike. Looks like we'll be hitting ONF on Monday the 19th. If anyone is interested in joining us let me know. I don't know where in Ocala we will be ridding at yet, but we will be meeting somewhere on I-4 and heading out from there.

I'll get some more details later in the week as to exactly were and when.

Yea, I was thinking Sunday, but there's no way he can make it. I talked to him on the phone yesterday and he already has plans with his family on the 18th.

If you can get around your schedule let me know.

Nope no way around the schedule.
Maybe if it was a croom ride I might be able to do that one.
Monday schedule I have done my noon, but the drive all the way to Ocala will kill my time.
But a drive to Croom from New Tampa is only 1/2 hour.

Looks like we will be parking at a pit on the west side of 588 (you can see it from the road). It's (I’m guessing) about halfway in between HWY 40 and Big Scrub on 588.

Does anyone know of a good spot to meet at on 40 just off of I-75? I'm not familiar with that area, I usually take the back roads up to the forest. Need a place were an out of towner can easily find.

Not sure if we are thinking of the same pit but it sounds like the one I've been doing alot of riding in lately. It's by far the BEST pit in ONF. It is also a no-no to be in there. Now I'm not saying "don't ride there" I just don't think parking there would be in everyones best interest. If we are thinking of the same pit, the gas lines are just a little south of there off of 588 (I think the gas lines are numbered 579) There's plenty of paking room on the gas lines. Just a suggestion, Let me know what you guys think or where and what time we are meeting.

Its to bad I cant go. I could show guys the most heavenly riding spot in ONF. There is miles and miles of pure flat trails. No woops.
There is this one road that has rolling giant woops that like waves on the ocean.
YOu can do wide open speed runs and get just enough air in between each hill to make you feel like youre flying.
Then we come to a huge lake stop and enjoy the scenery and take off.
We are so deep in the woods that if you do get lost the chances of someone coming by or even hearing another car or quad is very remote.
Ill see what I can do about getting offf that day. jump2:

Corey, I hear ya! Just using it as a land mark. I've seen people camping out beside that pit before. If it's fenced off I stay out of it. A friend of mine parks there and rides out. He says there are some real good trails.

How about we meet at the tower at the intersection of HWY 40 & 88 and decide where we're going to park at there? Say at 8:00 am Monday morning? I think Corey knows ONF real good and should have some suggestions. I just don't want to ride thru the woops of Big Scrub.

Doug, you got me thinking about that place but I think it maybe best just to take John to the forest for now. We need to send him back to NY in one piece!:D

Paul, a couple of 14-hour days won't kill ya! Just kidding. Do what ya can!

Let me know what you guys think

Mark,

I will not be able to make it. And doubt I will make next weekends Harescramble.

I busted my tail pretty good last night at the monster truck show.

I paniced when I saw the hail bail in the middle of the rack and over grabbed a hand full of gas when I was already on the face and it just come straight up on me. When I see I was going to eat it I just try to shove the quad to get it away from me. If you noticed I didnt ride the last one and that was the reason why. They wanted me to go out and do the first 2 laps and get pulled but I didnt want to take a chance of hitting a jump funny again and losing it like that.

If you didnt see the practice I nosed the first double. Well that should have given me a clue this wasnt going to be a fun night. Well I didnt know it was a double and I just rolled what I thought was just another jump. When I realized oh hell its a double and nosed right into the face of the next one.

All in all was a good weekend. Just not my cup of tea jumping. I much rather bang into trees then jump the jumps. I loved signing the autographs, hell I think I signed 600-700 of them things.

Maybe some time in the next couple of weeks we can head back to that one place and do some riding there.

I bruised my tailbone pretty good. Really hard sitting and even worse when I go to stand. This is the reason im not racing next weekend. I dont think ill be able too.

Only thing on the quad I noticed was the right nerf bar was bent up some but noting really major. They said the quad rolled 3 or 4 times. I was hoping Mark could give me some insight on what he saw.

By the time I looked over all I saw was you getting up and the quad upside down. We were wondering what happened to you when you didn't make the second race. We left a little early and tried to find you in the pits but I guess you had already gone.

Hope your doing good.

I have to say "thank you" again! You saved the day. We would have been screwed if you didn't get those extra tickets. I owe ya big time!

Let me know how your doin and thanks again,
Mark

Here's one for your album.

Alright for those that are looking at the picture let me set it up for you.

If you look to the bottom left corner there is a double jump there. This is the middle of 3 jumps. If you look real close you can see a hail bail turned sideways sitting in the middle of the course. I was on the face of the jump and paniced cause I thaught I was going to hit it. I gunned it and the front end came right up. And I landed there right before the 3rd jump. Right on my tail bone.

This picture is pretty deceiving. Or atleast thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Look like the jumps are small. Well in reality they where not huge. But look at the monster trucks in the back ground and thats how bad the deception is. Look like there lil toys
