NO, I dont think im going to make it. Really would like to give it a full time to heal. Got GNCC coming next month and that is my main goal just to get ready for that.

Good luck to you all and be safe. Let me know what I missed.

Jen have you got your trophy yet? Or any idea who has it?

Sorry to hear that Doug...hope you get back to full potetial soon!!

I thought of working this race just to take some extra time to heal...but decided I wanted to ride eyebrows:

I did get my plaque...thanks. I think Shawn's son was the one who actually grabbed it for me...they gave it to me last week.

Take Care!

What you missed was a very rough course, lots of dust but the lay out of it was good the motocrooss section was a blast you could hit all the jumps wide open.Jen broke her shifter off on the first lap ran the whole race in third gear and still smoked them.My 500 blew up,I think it droped a valve the spark plug is smashed and metal in the ports. But I have a lrd 460 coming that should be here by the end of the weak.Don't worry you defenitly didn't miss the best race of the year.THE WOOPS WERE BAD.

DOUG
01-25-2004, 07:43 PM
Well then im definatly glad I missed it. I rode a little today and its still kinda tender. There would have been no way could have handle the whoops.

THE MOTOR AGAIN, man I think you need to get rid of that problem child. Or give it to Jen she'll show you how to ride it.

I hope Apollo isnt whooped out. The bike course was a mud fest last year, but I hear they took a bob cat to the entire place and leveled it.

JEN YOU DA BOMB, PHIL you are too if you can keep that damn thing running. Congrats and see you guys in apollo.

That was the easiest course so far this year.
Very high speed. The obnly woops were on a hill type cliff thing and right after you left the MX part of the course.
Dude I was I dead last in my hole shot and still ended in 3rd.
Dusty as all could be, but they had guys at all the corners in the dust showing you the turn so you could haul ass through the dusty parts.

I ran better times than some of the A riders. And with no sticking stabalizer or damper thingy.
Will have one on the next race and have my kick starter fixrd by then.
Yokley was there that was fun to try to hang with him this time.
Atleast now I know who is flying past me now.

Jen I must come by and meet you some time.
We will be practicing at Crooms next weekend if you and the hubby want to come out and play with us...:D

Hey guys ;)

Doug...missed seeing ya out there....look forward to seeing you again at Apollo!!

Mark...You gonna make it to Apollo??

Yamadooski...

Well....it may have been the "easiest" course lay out and it was VERY fast (if you didn't break your shifter in the 3rd or 4th corner...LoL!!) but...I would have to disagree with ya when you said it was the "easiest" course this year. There were many whoops and rough sections!!! Every corner of the MX track had whoops...many places in the track did as well....the one straight that didn't have whoops was the "dark green grassy straight" which led you into the small section of woods. After the scorring shicane and into the next "small" woods section was all whoops...the "white sand" straight that led down that "little" off camber hill had whoops coming out of the corner...the hills you descibed were the worse-Phil hit one wrong and his bars slammed into his head...I almost went over the handlebars on more than one occasion...and there were many more sections...half of which I can't remember!! I always have "after - race amnesia". Hey....and don't think I am a wimp and can't take a rough course...LoL !!!!!!

I guess to each his own...not trying to get on here and tell your opinion is wrong...so don't take it personal :) I am gald you did well in your class!!!!!! I will look for ya at the next race...or if you see me come up and say hey...maybe all of us could get together and ride on one of these off weekends...lord knows I would like the extra seat time eyebrows:

i run 4 stroke c and there were 37 quads lined up, since i dont run alot i was gonna just hang back and watch the pileup in the first turn, but the horn goes off and all your pre race thinking goes out the window, i start, just trying not to get run into in all the dust and trying not to hit anybody, next thing i know i am on about 4-5 place after the first couple turns, which was great, but i got there a little late and didnt get a practice lap, and that made me a touch nervous, anyway i figured i would just follow the guy in front of me for the first lap or so and see what i could do,there were 3 of us running together on the first lap, and i was in the middle, soon the guy behind me was no longer there, (dont know if we pulled away or if he crashed or what) next thing i know the guy in front of me pulls over to let me by, (usually thats is me, not wanting to hold up the guy behind) i was kinda suprised, being that it was the first lap and we didnt even get to the motocross section yet,anyway.... i saw the next guy in font was a couple of turn away, then there was about a 100 yd straight, and he was on a new yfz450, time to test my cannondale, i rode just a little faster than, i usually do to try go to get the next one, and i am gaining, alright, i am thinking......next thing i know .....POP the motor shuts off, i try to get out of the racing line the best i can and i look at the front of my motor and all the oil that used to be inside the motor was now outside, some of you guys might have seen me on the side a silver and yellow dale... i was towed back fairly soon and got to watch a pretty good race... oh well, thats racing

Damn Pete,

I guess you did,but didnt get it fixed. I hope you get it fixed for Apollo. You've got 2 weeks. I hope we get a little bit of rain to keep the dust down. Noting worse than not being able to see where your going. Atleast with mud it looks like you raced cause your covered in it. Dust is just messes up your vision and you have nothing to brag about how many holes you got stuck in.

These next 2 H/S should have several GNCC riders. For sure Gatorback the weekend before the GNCC.

T - 33 Days and counting

Was looking at the year end results, we have had 259 quad riders register for a race this year. But where still only averaging 120 per race. We need to get this up to 200 mark if we hope to get are own quad series.

pdavis

there was alot of riders there this past weekend, 2 stroke is definatley a dying breed, there was like only a handful of 2 stroke c riders and around 40 4 stroke c
i think that with a seperate series we could add a peewee quad class and add several other classes, utility, 4X4 the better chance we would have of reaching the goal of 200 riders, with the sales of ATV's going through the roof, you would think that it shouldnt be a problem, another thing is i think getting the word out is vital, people cant race if they dont know about it

Man guy's, what's the deal with all of these blown motors? Seems like every other person I hear from has had one take a dump on them in the past couple of weeks. Hope I'm not next.

Congrats Jen! So you waxed'em with just third gear. I'm glad I wasn't there. It's bad enough having you fly by me like a freight train blazing thru palmettos, but to find out you only had third gear just would have made it that much worse.:D Good job!

Talked to dooski today and it sounds like he had a good run also. Congrats on the third place!

I don't think I will be able to make it to the Apollo race. My oldest one has Basket Ball playoffs the next couple of Saturday’s. I am planning on trying to make the GNCC race. Anyone going?

Thanks for all the info on the race. Wish I could of made it.

We are going to GNCC.
We will get there at Sat at noon. We should all try to get there at the same time and hang out together.
I ususally like to find a good spot on the course around a turn so when we pit you slide around the turn and into your pit area.

I only live about 45 min from Palatka. So ill probably just drive down for practice then again in the morning for the race. Dont forget we have Gatorback the weekend before the GNCC. Usually alot of the pro's show up and kick everyones butt.

Going riding today to see how my rear-end is doing. Hopefully ride for about 1:30 today. Still gotta get that bumped up to 2:30 atleast. What classes you guys going to run?? I think im goign to run the JR class wich is the last row in the 12 race. So I get to have Yokley and Borich and Smiley and Ballance fly past me like im going backwards.

Im running in the 2 srtoke C class .
Its the morning race, this way I can watch the pros in the pm race.
Plus the am race will not be all rutted up.
Doug you should run C class or run "first year racer".
This way we will all be in the am race.

Phil and I will be there...unsure if Phil is racing though??

As for me...I will be there with bells on!! I have been looking forward to this race for a while now. It will be nice to know how I compare with some of those girls eyebrows:

We will leave the night before as usual...to long of a drive to make that morning...

Well here is my thinking behind the Jr class. They only average about 10-15 riders in the class per race. Only the top rider attended all the races last year. Who knows I have another month to change my mind. Plus a couple more FTR h/s.

Jen, they have a practice at this race on saturday from 3-5 and then we race on sunday for this race. Only for this race though and the TX round.
