That was an awsome race. 10.5 miles!
I was dead last on the holeshot as usual. Before the end of the first lap I was in 1st with all those guys on my tail, then I spread it out.
I should have pitted for gas on the 2nd lap but waited till the 3rd.
The 4th lap 2nd place dude passed me and we passed each other back and forth.
Then he passes me and has the lead for a while and he was a ways up there.
I finally got to the last 2 miles and could tell I was wearing him out.
I was ready to make my pass and take first when all of a sudden my quad takes a dump and I had to limp it back the rest of the way.
Im 15 feet from the finish and it dies, had to push it in to get scored and settled for 2nd place.
Whole race in first and the quad said "Ive had enough and Im calling it quits"
I even passed an "A" rider, thats a first in books!.
Oh well time to rebuild and head to NC next weekend.

Paul,

Seen they had some problems with the course markings. Must not been that bad if you where able to follow it. Congrats on the finish. And good luck to you next week.

Fix that thing so it will run more than one race without blowing up.

Hey Guys...I must say I disagee with Dooski...you didn't miss anything!!!

That course was the WORST course I have ever had to ride!!!! The course was not only a freeway with hazardous ditches but it was also poorly marked. On the first lap I can't count how many racers I saw on the ground with their bikes upside down 10-20 feet away. The second lap I watched as those hurt riders were on flat boards and being loaded into trucks

After the practice lap some quad ridders even got their money back...how often does that happen?????ash:

In mine and my husbands opion it was a waste of an event...I know of plenty places where I could ride open fields for a couple hours...for FREE!!!

On another note...Phil had a great race!!! His bike ran flawless and rode to a 3rd place finish!!! Way to go Phil!!!!!

I on the other hand had the hole shot...got a lead and then my bike would not stay running!!! I got it started after a few minutes and with the help from an FTR member working the race...we pull started my bike. I then was on a mission....I caught the girl who passed me a few minutes earlier and blew by...only for my bike to shut off yet again!!! I did not finish :o

Turns out that my vent hose was clogged...but the problem is now fixed and I am ready for the next one!!!!!!!!

I thought it was a good race. The reason being it was different with all the so called speed traps.
Its not the same ole course.
Now Im working the next one cause it seems all the Ocachabwa races are high speed cow poop fields.
I like the woods.

After talking with Jen I think I need to work the next one so I can regain 1st place.

Oh I blew a hole in the left side engine case cover.
Lost a bearing inside and chewed a hole through the inside of the cover to the stator.

On hunt now for a case cover by this weekend.
