I am attempting to "fix" Jimmy Earnest's YFZ after the thing seized up at the HS.
I got the thing out with his help and set up the ole' shop in the house again.
I just hope he doesn't ever find this blog and find out I really don't know what I am doing!!! lolhammer:
I got the head off and went to remove the cylinder, but it don't wanna' come. It is froze together with the piston.
I guess the only way to do it is to proceed with splitting the case since, well since I can. Then I can throw all that stuff in the garbage.
Ok here I go.
popc:

I have decided to give woods racing a try and see how I do and was wondering just what mods I should start with for my Z400 ( '07 ) if any . Maybe an exhaust and intake/fuel system - looking at Alba performance kit or leaning more towards the Yoshi system w/open air box and stage 3 jet kit. Any one plan on doing any riding in the Manatee/Sarasota area any time soon would like to tag along and maybe get some good tips for riding.

Here is an easy way to size or remove a chain without a chain break.

When a chain is assembled the ends of the pins are mushroomed (stamped) to hold the plates and keep the links together. Basically all that needs to be done to get the chain apart is get rid of the mushroomed portion of the pins.

The first picture shows the plate and the pins. You can see how the ends of the pins are tapered down. That’s the mushroomed part.

Grind the mushroomed part of the pins down to were they are flush or below the surface of the plate. Place a chisel or screwdriver between the plate and link. Tap with a hammer for a little persuasion and the plate will pop off.

So what is a blog? The term "blog" is short for "web log" and a web log is simply a log or post on the web with the poster determining its content.

A blog can be what ever you want it to be, a how-to article, a journal, breaking news, an announcement, or a personal diary. It can be your private thoughts, notes to the world, or opinions for everyone to debate. It can be a chalkboard, stage, soap box or just a note pad.

From a readers perspective it’s a story to fallow, its information, its entertainment, it’s a look into someone’s experiences.

Clear as mud right? Basically, a blog is a blog. It’s whatever it is.

Happy Blogging!
