Taylor Kiser Wiseco John Penton GNCC Race Report

Wiseco John Penton – Millfield, Ohio, June 6 2009

Albright Motorsport Communications

After the Somerset race I decided to head north to continue my training regimen in anticipation of the last half of the season. I spent many hours training and a lot of time focusing on my suspension and quad setup. Needless to say I headed into the Penton feeling more confident than ever. Saturday morning the weather was nearly perfect and as I headed to the line I was anxious to get the race underway.

I had yet another great jump off the line; my Yamaha powered to the first corner, allowing me to grab the holeshot. The first lap the top three riders swapped positions many times as we made our way through the course. My goal was to remain near the front and ride smart; I was confident this would put me up front in the last lap of the race. At the close of Lap one I was in third place right behind the leaders.

The mileage of each lap was a tad longer for this race which equaled longer lap times; I know I would pit in lap two. In the second lap I fell to the fifth place position but remained calm knowing I could make it up with a quick pit stop. The top five of us pulled into our pits and my team came through I was able to capitalize and picked up a spot as we headed back onto the track.

The last two laps I remained focused on riding a mistake free race; I battled back into the third place position as I took the white flag. I felt great and pushed forward hoping to grab the win. Chris Borich and I battled the entire last lap, swapping back and forth for the lead. It was a great battle and as we crossed the finish line Chris took the win as I placed second; a mere two seconds short of the win. All in all it was a great day of racing; my machine handled better than it has all year and my hard work is putting me in a position to battle for the win at every event.

After this round of racing and placing second I hold second place in the points standings;  I have a lot of great sponsors and supporters that have a hand in this race and I cannot thank them enough; Yamaha, Houser, Ohlins, HMF, Maxxis, Mike Kiser Welding, Raber Industries, T&K Cycles, HiPer, Moto X Nutrition, Fly, Powermadd, Fasst, Ballance Racing, Precision Racing, Rath Racing, GT Thunder, DP Brakes, G4 graphics, Derek Tremain- ARS Powersports, Baldwin Motorsports, Big Nutz Racing, Chester Vet Clinic, Jason Lyons – Mona Vie, Spectro Oils, Tire Balls, ATV Exposed, Albright Motorsports, IMS and Eden Winery.

Looking forward to round #8, See you in Snowshoe!
